As daylight begins to soften over the highlands of Al Shafa, Taif, an adventure begins that combines hiking, granite terrain, mountain views, and guided abseiling in one beginner-friendly program.
The experience begins with gathering and registration, followed by equipment checks, preparation, and a detailed route and safety briefing. The group then moves through natural trails, granite formations, and open mountain terrain.
As the adventure progresses, the views continue to expand, revealing the Al Shafa highlands, surrounding valleys, and mountain summits beneath the changing colours of sunset.
The program also includes a guided abseiling experience using a harness, helmet, rope systems, and technical safety equipment under the supervision of the Lost Mountains team.
The name comes from the panoramic view at the final viewpoint, where the Al Shafa highlands and the surrounding summits of the Sarawat Mountains appear across the horizon. It refers to the view of the summits—not climbing multiple peaks.

2:30 PM: Arrival, gathering, and registration
2:30–3:30 PM: Preparation, equipment checks, and safety briefing
3:30–7:00 PM: Hiking, viewpoints, and guided rope activity
7:00–9:00 PM: Return to base and dinner
9:00–10:00 PM: Closing and departure preparation
No previous rope experience is required. The team prepares the technical section and supervises each adventurer. Basic fitness and the ability to walk across natural, uneven terrain are required. The route or rope activity may be adjusted according to weather, site conditions, and safety requirements.
