15 days. High altitude and glacier travel. One summit—6,476 metres.
Rising to 6,476 metres above sea level in Nepal’s remote Hinku Valley, Mera Peak offers a genuine introduction to high-altitude mountaineering and a defining step beyond conventional trekking.
The journey begins in Kathmandu, where expedition preparations and equipment checks are completed before flying to Lukla, the legendary gateway to the Himalayas. From there, the route progresses through Chutanga, Chhatra La, Kothe, and Thangnak before reaching Khare.
The landscape changes with every stage—from dense forests, deep valleys, and isolated mountain settlements to rocky passes, exposed highland terrain, snow, ice, and increasingly thin air.
The 15-day, 14-night program is structured to support progressive acclimatisation and allow adventurers to build their readiness before entering the glaciated environment and the highest sections of the mountain.
At Khare, adventurers receive guide-led practical instruction in using crampons, an ice axe, a harness, and rope systems , together with the fundamentals of safe movement across snow and glacier terrain.
After training and acclimatisation, the team advances towards Base Camp and then High Camp, where the terrain becomes more demanding, temperatures fall, and the effects of altitude become increasingly significant. The summit attempt begins before dawn and requires patience, discipline, and mental resilience.
The normal route does not involve steep technical rock climbing, but it requires movement across snow and glacier terrain, correct use of technical equipment, and disciplined teamwork in a genuine high-altitude environment.
Long mountain trails, isolated villages, forests, and high passes leading progressively towards the glacier.
Practical instruction using crampons, an ice axe, a harness, rope systems, and safe glacier movement.
A pre-dawn summit attempt that depends on acclimatisation, health, weather, and mountain conditions.
This adventure is designed for adventurers with previous multi-day mountain experience who are ready to progress beyond 6,000 metres. Continuing towards the summit depends on health, acclimatisation, weather, glacier conditions, and the guide’s professional assessment.
Begin your true Himalayan mountaineering journey, with preparation, acclimatisation, and safety guiding every step towards the summit.
