The Adventure takes place in Saudi Arabia, Taif city, Alshafa Mountains across a dramatic granite mountain landscape featuring rugged terrain, rocky formations, and panoramic summit views.
Granite Mountain Summit Adventure is designed for participants ready for a more challenging mountain experience. It includes hiking, scrambling, elevation gain, and technical sections that require good physical fitness.
The Adventure takes place over 2 days / 1 night, combining a mountain camping experience with a summit ascent the following morning.
On the first day, participants arrive at the mountain area, prepare their equipment, and establish camp for the night. The following morning, the team begins the summit ascent before returning safely from the mountain.
Previous hiking or mountain experience is recommended due to the terrain and physical demands. Participants do not need to be technical climbers, as technical sections are managed and supervised by the Lost Mountains team.
Yes. The route includes scrambling, rocky terrain, and technical mountain sections, with rope-assisted movement where required.
Yes. Lost Mountains Adventures provides the required technical safety equipment for the climbing and rope-assisted sections. Participants are responsible for bringing the personal equipment specified in the Adventure gear checklist.
Yes. The first night is spent camping in the mountain environment, creating a complete expedition-style experience before the summit attempt the following morning.
Participants should be prepared to carry their personal hiking and camping equipment as specified in the final gear checklist provided before the Adventure.
Participants should have good physical fitness and be comfortable with prolonged mountain activity, elevation gain, rocky terrain, and scrambling.
It is not recommended as a first mountain Adventure for participants with no previous hiking experience. Beginners should first complete easier Lost Mountains Adventures before progressing to Granite Mountain.
Participants should bring suitable hiking clothing, hiking shoes with strong grip, a backpack, camping and sleeping equipment, headlamp, sufficient water, snacks, sun protection, warm layers, and personal essentials.
A complete gear checklist will be provided before the Adventure.
Wear technical or comfortable outdoor clothing appropriate for mountain conditions and sturdy hiking shoes with excellent grip. Temperatures can change significantly between daytime and nighttime.
Yes. Some sections involve elevated and exposed mountain terrain. Participants should be reasonably comfortable with heights and able to follow the Adventure Leader's instructions.
The Adventure is led by the Lost Mountains team, with technical sections managed using appropriate mountain and rope safety systems. Participants must follow the Adventure Leader's instructions at all times.
Safety takes priority over reaching the summit. The route, schedule, technical activities, or summit attempt may be modified or cancelled if conditions are considered unsafe.
No. Mountain conditions, weather, participant condition, group progress, or safety considerations may prevent a summit attempt or require the team to turn around.
